IPod Touch Games - From Classic IPod Touch Games to the Latest IPod Touch Games Review

Over the past couple years, The iPod Touch has quickly risen in popularity, not only as a digital music player, but also as a portable gaming machine. While portable gaming has in the past been dominated by companies like Nintendo and, to a lesser degree, Sony, the iPod Touch came seemingly out of nowhere to offer a unique gaming experience that its competitors have been struggling to match.

One of the unique things about the iPod Touch is its full multi-touch screen. This has allowed game developers to become extremely creative about the amount of functionality they can give to their game. Rather than relying on a specific set of buttons, game developers can create virtual buttons on the screen which can change depending upon the game or even the stage of the game that the player is at.

The iPod Touch also features an "accelerometer". This allows the device to sense which direction it is being held. It also lets the device detect when it is moved. For example, race car games can allow the player to steer the vehicle simply by tilting the iPod back and forth. This can provide a more realistic gaming experience than using directional buttons.

So how do you get all these great games on your iPod Touch anyways? The way to get games is to use Apple's App Store. The App Store comes included on the iPod Touch when you purchase the device. It's a purple icon on your home screen. All you need to do is tap the icon, and you'll instantly be transported to the App Store.

Although it's called a "store", the best thing about the App Store is that most of the games are free! You can browse through all the games available to you by choosing different categories. You might be looking for action games, puzzle games, or even word games. Whichever type of game you like, there is undoubtedly a category for it. You can look under the most recently released games or the most popular games in each category. Apple also has a featured games section, where they highlight the games that they think are noteworthy. You can also browse by the most popular games overall.

When you have decided on a game that you think looks interesting, you can read the description, look at screenshots, and read reviews. Then just tap the download button, and within seconds it will be on your home screen, ready for you to begin playing!

There are also games that cost money, and to buy these games, you will need to put a credit card on file with Apple through their iTunes program. However, this isn't necessary if all you'd like to do is access the wide catalog of free games.

If you like getting free stuff, then you probably wouldn't mind a free iPad. Not only can you buy iPad online, but you can get tons of free stuff at http://www.buyipadonline.com.
